MATTHEW
CURLEWIS has
been resident in Amsterdam since 2003, working across a number of different
writing styles. He is a commissioned screenwriter, advertising copywriter,
journalist, spoken word performance artist and script consultant with
his company Curlewis
Creative.
His feature film project Breath of Life was shortlisted for both
the 2010 Sundance Sloan Foundation Commissioning Grant and the Tribeca
Film Institute Sloan Filmmaker Fund and his Ka-Ching Cartoons commissioned
script Kakkerlak! A Nuclear Opera received grant monies from
the Dutch Film Fund.
Matthew's client list includes Russia's Kinotavr Film Festival, Amsterdam's
Binger Filmlab, Time Out Amsterdam, TribalDDB - Gucci Parfums, PUMA Fragrances,
CineMart - International
Film Festival Rotterdam, IdtV Films, Fantastic Man, Amsterdam Weekly,
and Christina Aguilera Fragrances.

Matthew led a number of sold out workshops in creative writing and screenwriting
with Amsterdam's wordsinhere, before founding Amsterdam Writers in 2009.
He holds certificates in Scriptwriting and Script Editing from the Binger
Filmlab, a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Criticism and Performance Studies
from New York University, and is a certified Workshop Leader in the Amherst
Writers and Artists Training Method.
Matthew is also the great grandson of Ethel Turner, one of Australia's
best-loved authors, most well known for her novel Seven Little Australians,
translated into ten languages and published in more than 40 editions.
